Services for Don "Bud" Deeringer, 43, of Knoxville, who passed away Feb. 4, 1991,
were held Feb. 7 at St. Anthony's Church.
Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in
Marion County. Rev. Philip Cardenzana officiated at the ceremony. Music was provided
by organist Sister Roberta Klesener.
Military honors were provided by American Legion
Post #168 and V.F.W. Post #3519. Honorary pallbearers were Allan Abel, LaVerne Mahurin
and Leon Ross. Pallbearers were Bill Crall, Jr., Rick Graham, Jr., Kevin Kelderman,
Jeff Shilling, Rick Shilling and Loren Thornburg.
Don "Bud" Deeringer was born April
18, 1947 in Knoxville. He was the son of Don and Bertine Slykhuis Deeringer. Don
attended the Knoxville Public School system and later entered the U.S. Army in 1966
and served in Korea with an engineering battalion. He was released in 1968 and returned
to Knoxville.
On April 3, 1969 Don was united in marriage to Lolita (Lollie) Graham
in Knoxville. Don was employed at the time of his death by the Maytag Company in
Newton where he had worked in the tool and die department for over 20 years. Don
was preceded in death by his parents.
Those family members surviving him are his
wife; Lollie of Otley, four sisters: Donna Thornburg, Ruth Kay Shilling, Mrs. Larry
(Debra) Bennett all of Knoxville, and Mrs. William (Joan) Crall of Lovilia. Also
one brother, Bill Slykhuis of Linden, Penn. Also many other relatives and a host
of friends.
