Meeting Minutes for June 8, 2011
Pennie Sommar called the meeting to order on June 8, 2011 at Swamp Fox.
Knoxville Alumni Association Board Meeting Summary: Pennie said
there are 64 K Club bricks on order from McCall’s, and they will be engraved this
month for the historical plaque monument at the SW corner of the stadium. Salvaging
will continue at the Old Junior High by New Creations at least until July. The school
has agreed to let SOS have the bricks from the building and store them at the old
pool site, and Mr. DeCarlo from the demolition company will transport the bricks
to the site. SOS will sell the bricks at football games and at Homecoming, and what
is left to landscapers. Pennie said that there was no Ken Locke Scholarship awarded
this year as apparently the funds had run out. The Knoxville Alumni Association
voted that the current endowed Scholarship be permanently named the "Ken Locke Memorial Scholarship".
Treasurer’s Report:
KAA current balance: $12,297.78
SOS current balance: $40,592.53
