Meeting Minutes for January 12, 2011
Pennie Sommar called the meeting to order on January 12, 2011 at Swamp Fox.
Knoxville Alumni Association Board Meeting Summary:
Terry Edwards talked about the Alumni Association vs. Cancer Basketball Challenge on the afternoon of February 5. Alumni will hopefully have at least 2 games. Flyers are being prepared to take to businesses. Special Alumni Association vs. Cancer T-shirts will also be printed.
Treasurer’s Report:
The current balance for SOS is $41,442.42. $284 was collected from pop can redemptions
for the month of December. Pennie also reported that a total of $4,768.00 was collected
in 2010; and a total of $22,337.15 for the last 4 years.
Stadium Update:
The Historical Plaque bill has been paid and we are waiting for delivery.
Homecoming 2011 Update:
Dyer-Hudson has been reserved for September 23. Lunch will not be provided this year, but the building will be available for alumni to use during the afternoon. Pennie said that alumni volunteers will be asked to help plan Homecoming events.
New Business:
Alumni are encouraged to submit pictures for the Alumni Website. Comments were made about the excellent work Ruby Dursky has done on the website.
Pennie asked if there was any further business. There was none. The meeting was
adjourned. The next meeting will be held on February 9, 2011 at 6:30 PM at
Swamp Fox.
