Jason Messamaker – Baseball – Class of 1993
Jason Messamaker was a standout baseball player for the Panthers in the early 1990’s. The four-year
letterman helped spearhead Knoxville Baseball to one of the most successful program
in the state during that era.
Messamaker was a dominant pitcher, picking up 11 wins in his senior season, and ending his career
with 192 strikeouts. He was twice named all conference, and was named First Team
All State in 1993.
Barry Reynolds – Football – Class of 1980
Barry Reynolds dominated the trenches for Panther Football in the Fall of 1979, and earned First
Team All State honors for his play.
Reynolds was a three sport athlete, playing on the state runner-up basketball squad, and running
the high hurdles for the track team. A three-year letterman for the football team,
Reynolds was team captain, and twice named All Conference.
1973 Cross Country Team
The 1973 Cross Country team was one of the best sent out by KHS, bringing home a State Runner Up
finish in Class A. The John England coached squad finished third in the State One-Mile
run earlier in the season.
The state squad was made up of Randy Wilson (1st at state), Steve Dennison (10th), Rich Hollingsworth
(19th), Tim Crawford (31st), and Nyle Robinson (32nd).
