Meeting Minutes for October 13, 2010
Connie Husted called the meeting to order on October 13, 2010 at Swamp Fox.
Knoxville Alumni Association Board Meeting Summary:
Terry Edwards reported that:
200 new seats north of the Home side seats are completed corrective work done by TK Concrete on the old Home side seating has been accepted new fencing around the stadium is almost completed, and black woven fencing will be placed at an angle behind the Historical Plaque monument Historical Plaque has been ordered, and the bricks for the monument are in the process of being ordered Van Den Broek Concrete, Inc of New Sharon has agreed to give an estimate of the cost to rebuild the retaining wall on the NW end of the stadium Terry and Diane have removed over 300 trophies from the old Junior High building; cleaned them, and pictured each one on a DVD
Connie noted that new board members Mike Dutton and Larry Rowley were welcomed to
the October 6 KAA Board Meeting.
Treasurer’s Report: Chuck Reeves reported that:
Current SOS balance: $152,593.09 $9,678.67 will be transferred from the KAA to SOS account
Current Events Update:
Connie stated that volunteers will be
needed for SOS participation in Living Windows on November 18. SOS will use ½ of
the former Hallmark building. Volunteers will be needed to help decorate on Wednesday
evening, help provide cookies, and help the night of Living Windows. The Lighted
Parade will also be on that evening at 7:30 pm.
New Business:
A Knoxville School 1926 scrapbook item is currently on eBay is at a cost of approximately
$100. Members will keep an eye on the item to see if the price is lowered.
Pat Kading
read the letter of resignation that she had submitted to the KAA Board, and expressed
deep regret that health issues have forced her resignation. She offered to continue
to volunteer for computer work for KAA and SOS.
Bob Edwards has many used garbage
bags left over from his can redemption efforts, and asked if anyone had any use
for the bags.
Connie asked if there was any further business. There was none. The meeting was
adjourned. The next meeting will be held on November 10, 2010 at 6:30 PM at
Swamp Fox.
