Pat said that a wedding party will use the tables and lights Saturday so KAA will not have to pay the $100 clean-up fee.

  • Saturday, 9/19, 10:30 am: Annual Alumni Meeting and Brunch at KHS Commons, set-up to begin at 8:30 am.

  • Bryan Schlotterback’s “One Man, 200 Miles, 2 Days” run for SOS will begin at the stadium on Wednesday, September 23, at 7:00 pm, and end at the stadium during the football game on Friday night. Efforts will be made for a big send-off which will hopefully include KHS cheerleaders, football players, and cross country runners. Runners will be signed up to accompany him during his run, and homes along the route will be asked to keep their lights on for him.

Pennie asked about participation in Living Windows on November 19th. All present agreed that SOS should participate, using the Schmaltz’s building again if available. Volunteer Coordinators Judy Fee and Dawna Larson will head up efforts to have cookies available for the event.

Fundraising ideas for consideration: Linda Hicks has contacted 4 appraisers willing to work at an “Antiques Roadshow” fundraiser at a cost of $75.00 each. Tentative dates of May 1, 2010 or April 24, 2010 were set, depending on the availability of the Show Barn at the Marion County Fairgrounds.

Pennie asked if there was any further business. There was none. The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be held on October 14, 2009 at 6:30 PM at Swamp Fox.
